Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has only played in 36 games so far this season due to injuries.
After being sidelined for more than a month, Antetokounmpo returned on March 2 and looked like his usual self. However, the Bucks will be without Antetokounmpo on Tuesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wis., due to a hyperextended knee.
Before the game, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers gave an unclear update on the timeline regarding Antetokounmpo.
“The good news was it was a really good image, so there was no damage. Nothing. It was really just good news. But I don’t know the next part (re: a timeline),” Rivers said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic.
The Bucks’ official injury report listed Antetokounmpo as out on Tuesday due to a bone bruise and a left knee hyperextension.

This season has been full of storylines regarding Antetokounmpo. Ahead of the trade deadline, he stated that he was ready to be traded. But the Bucks held on to Antetokounmpo, and other reports stated that Milwaukee was “never serious” about trading him.
Since Antetokounmpo’s return on March 2, he has scored 20 or more in five of the last six games, and 31 points apiece in each of the last two games.
Unfortunately, the Bucks have gone just 2-8 in their last 10 games, and they currently sit in 11th place in the Eastern Conference, meaning they have a way to go just to grab the final play-in spot.
