Ellie Day tweets note about LeBron James collision, compares it to car accident

Jason Day wife stretcher

Ellie Day, wife of pro golfer Jason Day and victim of a LeBron James mack truck collision Thursday night, tweeted out a note Friday afternoon about the incident.

If you’re unfamiliar, Jason and Ellie Day were seated courtside Thursday night when James barreled into her while chasing a loose ball. Ellie Day had to be stretchered off and spent the night in the hospital, but was released on Friday morning and all seems to be well.

Ellie Day tweeted an extensive statement on Friday afternoon addressing several points. She compared the impact to a “minor car accident” and that her entire body felt like it was hit by a truck. Day also hit out at those who felt she didn’t do enough to get out of the way, or that Jason should have tried to do something.

“It was a blur,” Day wrote. “To the crazies that think Jason should have protected me — if he had time to react, so would have I. Also, I would not have liked both dudes landing on me. Lebron is huge and had such momentum he could not have stopped!!”

She also ripped those who accused it of being some sort of money grab or publicity stunt, saying she understands the risks of sitting courtside and saying the players are just “huge men doing their job.” She also thanked everyone for the support and expressed thankfulness that she wasn’t still pregnant and didn’t have her children with her.

All in all, it sounds as though Day is doing fine and is taking the whole ordeal well, and that’s great to hear.
