Michael Wilbon calls Grayson Allen a ‘thug’

One prominent ESPN personality is making his feelings about Grayson Allen very clear.

Before the Milwaukee Bucks-Chicago Bulls game on Friday, ESPN analyst Michael Wilbon had some harsh words for the Bucks guard Allen. Speaking in reference to the incident where Allen injured Bulls guard Alex Caruso the last time the two teams played (video here), Wilbon called Allen a “thug.”

“You take a guy out like that? Grayson Allen is a thug,” said Wilbon. “Let’s just be honest about it. Not based on his NBA play, based on his reputation and the smirk after he knocked a guy out of mid-air.”

Allen’s dirty play was still fresh in Chicago’s minds during Friday’s contest. One Bulls player hit Allen with a flagrant foul of his own in the second half. Allen also got booed throughout the game by the Chicago fans and even offered a response afterwards.

As for Wilbon, he is one of ESPN’s best-known analysts, having worked for them for over two decades. Wilbon is also a native of Chicago and is known to be a big Bulls fan. This is not the first time either that Wilbon has caused a stir with fiery comments in recent months.
