Gar Forman reportedly expected to land another NBA job after Bulls firing

Gar Forman’s NBA career might not be dead in the water just yet.

KC Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reported this week that early talk around the league suggests that Forman, who was just fired by the Chicago Bulls after over a decade as their GM, will be hired by another team. Johnson notes that, while Forman has some well-documented trust issues with agents and other executives, he is also known as a very strong talent evaluator, making him likely to land a scouting job somewhere else.

Forman, who won Executive of the Year in 2011, was officially ousted this month after many consecutive seasons of underperformance when the Bulls hired Denver Nuggets GM Arturas Karnisovas as their new lead executive. Forman’s longtime front-office battery mate John Paxson was also reassigned.

Indeed, Forman had some ugly feuds during his time in charge in Chicago, but his natural eye for talent could make the transition into a low-profile scouting role elsewhere a very seamless one for him.
