Giannis Antetokounmpo was feeling a little irritated after going down 0-2 to the Indiana Pacers.
The Milwaukee Bucks fell in Tuesday’s Game 2 of their first-round playoff series against the Pacers, losing 123-115. Speaking with reporters afterwards, the Bucks star Antetokounmpo let one fly.
While responding to a question about the team’s mindset now that they are facing an 0-2 deficit, Antetokounmpo dropped an F-bomb.
“My mindset right now is Game 3,” said Antetokounmpo. “I know the f–king deal man. I just know the deal. I know what I gotta do.”
You can see the video here (but obviously watch out for the foul language).
Antetokounmpo recorded an ornate stat line of 34 points, 18 rebounds, and seven assists on Tuesday. But other than a 28-point, 12-rebound outing by Milwaukee big Bobby Portis, Antetokounmpo got little help from his teammates (even with the Bucks getting Damian Lillard back on Tuesday after a blood-clotting issue forced him to miss time). Against a balanced Pacers attack featuring six players who scored in double figures, the top-heavy performance by the Bucks was not enough to cut it.
The former NBA MVP Antetokounmpo was also prominently trolled by Pacers fans in the middle of the game, presumably adding to the overall misery of the day. Considering that Indiana defeated Milwaukee in the first round of the playoffs last year (and that some vultures are reportedly circling for Antetokounmpo in the event of an early playoff exit), the vibes are not great for the Bucks right now.
