One fan decided to go Flava Flav in order to clown Giannis Antetokounmpo on Tuesday.
During the first quarter of Game 2 between the Indiana Pacers and the Milwaukee Bucks, a Pacers fan at Gainbridge Fieldhouse went viral for his phenomenal way of trolling the Bucks star Antetokounmpo.
With Antetokounmpo stepping to the free throw line for a pair of early foul shots, the fan was spotted behind the basket holding up a large makeshift clock. The clock said “Greek Time” along with the numbers 1-10, and the fan manually moved the “hand” of the clock through the numbers in succession as Antetokounmpo was gearing up for his free throws. Take a look below.
The ploy didn’t exactly work as Antetokounmpo went on to make both of his free throws (and within the allotted time). But you definitely have to give that fan an A+ for creativity.
The NBA rulebook states that players must shoot free throws within 10 seconds of receiving the ball at the foul line. Antetokounmpo is notorious for his lengthy free throw routine and has thus been trolled by many opposing fans over the years who loudly count in an effort to throw the former MVP off his game.
Usually, the strategy is worth a shot since Antetokounmpo is just a 69.3 percent free throw shooter for his career (and posted a career-low 61.7 percent from the line this year). In the past, some fans have even successfully forced Antetokounmpo airballs with their loud counting.
