Giannis Antetokounmpo reacted to the news of his head coach’s gastrointestinal distress in a very Giannis Antetokounmpo-like way.
Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers had to leave Thursday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers early due to a stomach issue. As a result, Bucks assistant Darvin Ham coached the team for the remainder of the contest, which Milwaukee won 126-113.
Speaking with reporters after the game, the Bucks star Antetokounmpo reacted to the news about Rivers with a funny wisecrack.

“Didn’t they say Coach Doc had to use the restroom like Paul Pierce?” Antetokounmpo joked.
Antetokounmpo then humorously held his nose for emphasis (but also said that he hoped Rivers was feeling better).
Here is the priceless video.
The 30-year-old Antetokounmpo, who finished Thursday’s game with a humongous 35-point, 17-rebound, 20-assist triple-double in the Bucks’ win over the 76ers, certainly knows his NBA history. Rivers was Pierce’s head coach on the Boston Celtics when Pierce infamously left a 2008 NBA Finals game in a wheelchair in order to use the bathroom (something that Pierce finally admitted to several years after).
Now over a decade-and-a-half later, Rivers is in his second season as Antetokounmpo’s head coach on the Bucks. Rivers had largely managed to avoid sticky situations while in Milwaukee … until Thursday’s game.
Not to fear though because the toilet humor is definitely very much in Antetokounmpo’s wheelhouse. The two-time NBA MVP absolutely loves these kinds of jokes and has even gone viral multiple times in the past for cracking sex jokes after games.
