Report: Goran Dragic to miss two months after undergoing knee surgery

Goran Dragic Heat

Miami Heat point guard Goran Dragic has missed 12 of the team’s last 14 games with a lingering knee injury, and he will now be out for an extended period after he undergoes a surgical procedure.

Shandel Richardson of The Athletic reported on Wednesday that Dragic is set to have his right knee scoped, and ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski later added that the 32-year-old will need the next two months to recover.

Dragic has tried to play through the injury, and he had his knee drained last month. He slowly worked his way back into the rotation during Miami’s recent road trip, but he ended up sitting out the last three games. It’s unclear if he suffered some sort of setback or has simply had recurring pain.

With the Heat 13-16 and currently in ninth in the Eastern Conference, losing Dragic could be tough to overcome. The veteran is averaging 15.3 points, 4.9 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game.
