Report: ‘Growing belief’ Magic could promote Adrian Griffin to head coach
Could Orlando be looking to recapture their coaching magic from within?
According to a report by Marc Stein of ESPN on Wednesday, there is a “growing belief” around the NBA that the Magic could promote assistant Adrian Griffin to the head coaching position.
As for Orlando, there is a growing belief in NBA coaching circles that current Magic assistant Adrian Griffin has a real shot at the job.

The Magic are looking to fill the slot after Scott Skiles abruptly resigned earlier this month. Meanwhile, former Pacers head coach Frank Vogel is also said to be a strong candidate for the position.
Griffin, 41, played in the NBA for nine seasons and is best remembered as a journeyman that appeared for six different teams over that span (not to mention several years playing overseas). He became an assistant coach upon his retirement as a player in 2008, serving on staff in Milwaukee and Chicago before coming to Orlando in 2015.
Griffin might not be the most qualified candidate currently on the coaching terrain. But seeing as issues with management appear to have done in Skiles, perhaps the promotion of a company man is indeed the right play here.
