After bouncing around between the NBA’s D-League, China, and Lebanon since being drafted by the Sacramento Kings in 2010, it appears Hassan Whiteside has found a home with the Heat.
During Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat center Whiteside posted an impressive triple-double with 14 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 blocked shots in just 25 minutes. The block total is an NBA high for this season and set a Heat franchise record for a single game.

After the game, Heather Cox asked Whiteside what his inspiration was for the day. Whiteside replied, “I’m just really trying to get my NBA2K rating up.”
We know another NBA player who knows exactly how the young man feels.
Outside of south Florida, Whiteside was far from a household name prior to Sunday. After his performance in front of a national television audience, it’s safe to say more people know who he is now. As for whether or not his NBA2K rating increases, it looks like that is going to happen.
Confirmed: based on play in recent weeks & eye opening performance today, @youngwhiteside will be getting #NBA2K15 boost within 24 hours
