The Indiana Fever and the Las Vegas Aces had an exciting showdown on Thursday night, but unfortunately not without some extracurricular activity.
In the third quarter at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind., Aces guard Jackie Young was inbounding the ball by the seats at center court. Young got upset at something that was said to her a male fan who was sitting courtside and immediately pointed him out to the referee.
During the next stoppage in play, Young was seen convening with officials and arena staffers to try to get the fan kicked out. Two fans were then shown on the Amazon Prime broadcast being escorted out by security.

After the game, the Fever issued a statement on the incident. “Following a report of a comment directed toward a player, arena security spoke with the fan involved and witnesses,” the statement read. “Security determined that there was no violation of the Fan Code of Conduct, the fan was not removed from the arena, but elected to leave. We consider the matter closed.”
Young also addressed the incident afterwards. “He was just chirping all game and I let him have it,” said Young, per Tony East of Forbes. “Then he just made one [comment] that was a little bit too far.”
Las Vegas would rally from an early 20-point deficit to defeat Indiana in overtime by a final score of 86-84. Young, a five-time All-Star and former No. 1 overall pick, finished with 22 points and nine assists in her 35 minutes of play.
The 28-year-old Young made some notable all-time WNBA history earlier this year. But during Thursday’s game against the Fever, she managed to make headlines for a different reason.
