NBA players have completely normalized wacky outfits, so much so that one guy who arrived at All-Star Weekend looking like a regular dude got roasted.
Cleveland Cavaliers big man Jarrett Allen showed up to Friday’s Rising Stars Challenge wearing a pretty normal outfit — a plain light jacket and some slacks. For some reason though, Twitter decided to clown him for it.

On Saturday, Allen responded to all the jokes about what he was wearing.
“It’s funny because I thought it was OK,” said Allen of his outfit, per Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints. “What am I supposed to do, wear a $5,000 chain to a game? That’s just a casual outfit that I felt comfortable in, so be it.”
Allen also posted a tweet in a similar vein on Saturday.

Allen, who is a first-time All-Star this year, certainly has the right mindset. That is what it looks like to be confident in your own skin and not feel the need to flex on others with your clothing. At 23 years old, Allen’s modest lifestyle should also help him build true wealth as he gets older.
It is not surprising that NBA fans have gotten accustomed to kooky fashion statements, even from some of Allen’s fellow All-Stars. But Allen’s quiet confidence in himself speaks louder than any Gucci outfit ever could.
