Jeanie Buss and the family appeared set to sell the remainder of the stake in the Los Angeles Lakers.
On Monday, it was reported that the Buss family would sell the remaining 17.8 percent Lakers ownership stake to incoming owners Bob Iger and Josh Kushner, who agreed to purchase the team on August 12 for a whopping $12.5 billion price.
However, Jeanie Buss is fighting back, claiming the sale is “void.” CNBS obtained a letter from Adam Streisand, Jeanie Buss’s lawyer.
“No sale of the JAB Trust’s 17.8% ownership interest in the Los Angeles Lakers, Inc. can be effectuated without approval by the current co-trustees, i.e., Jeanie, Janie and Joey Buss. Pursuant to the JAB Trust and the attached Court Order, the co-trustees are bound to vote the Los Angeles Lakers, Inc. shares to ensure that the minimum 15% ownership requirement is maintained in order to ensure that Jeanie Buss may remain Controlling Owner,” Streisand says in the letter.
Jeanie Buss was reportedly the only member of the Buss family who voted against selling the remaining stake in the Lakers.
Also: Am told by multiple sources that Lakers governor Jeanie Buss did not vote to sell. The other five siblings did. https://t.co/RpxWef5l6U

Now, she is bringing her lawyer in, and things could get awfully messy on the Lakers front regarding the sale of the team and the Buss family.
