Jeff Green also reportedly signing with Rockets

The Houston Rockets are bringing in the reinforcements for their second-half seeding push.

ESPN’s Tim MacMahon reported on Monday that the Rockets will also be signing veteran forward Jeff Green. This comes in addition to their expected signing of DeMarre Carroll, who was bought out by the San Antonio Spurs.

Green, 33, averaged 7.8 points and 2.7 rebounds per game in 30 appearances for the Utah Jazz this season before being waived in December. He also used to be teammates with both Russell Westbrook and James Harden on the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Rockets currently hold the No. 5 seed in the West at 34-20, and Green’s scoring punch combined with Carroll’s 3-and-D style should make for ideal fits in head coach Mike D’Antoni’s tempo-based system.
