Jeff Van Gundy has gone from leading candidate for the Houston rockets job to off the radar entirely.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of the Vertical, the ESPN analyst and former Rockets coach is no longer a factor in the team’s search.

On Monday, Van Gundy was said to be “gaining momentum” as the frontrunner. Today, we find out that they never even got to the point of having a formal interview. Clearly, something happened to change things up.
Perhaps that something involves Mike D’Antoni, who has a second interview with Houston and sounds like the odds-on favorite for the position as things stand.
