Joe Mazzulla pulls awesome stunt before Celtics’ championship parade
Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla somehow found a way to boost his already sky-high approval rating in New England.
Two days after winning the NBA championship on Monday, Mazzulla was seen wandering the streets of Boston with the Larry O’Brien Trophy in hand. The 35-year-old allowed Celtics fans to touch the trophy and brought the hardware to several establishments in Boston’s North End neighborhood.

Mazzulla, a born and raised New Englander from Rhode Island, showed that he was a true man of the people with his impromptu tour of the trophy.
Perhaps Mazzulla was warming himself up for the real deal on Friday, when the Celtics will hold their official championship parade.
Mazzulla took over for former Celtics head coach Ime Udoka before the 2022-23 season. Despite being a few years younger than Celtics center Al Horford, Mazzulla was able to lead the franchise to its 18th championship — the most in NBA history.
