Joel Embiid takes major step toward injury return
Joel Embiid appears to be on the verge of finally making his season debut for the Philadelphia 76ers.
The All-Star center was not listed on Monday’s injury report, signaling that Embiid is set to make his season debut Tuesday against the New York Knicks. He had missed the first nine games of the season as the team tries to manage the health of his knee.

The Sixers have started 2-7, and Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey have all missed some time due to injuries. To say they really need Embiid to give them a boost would be an understatement, even if his availability is likely to be limited in many ways.
Expectations are going to be high for Embiid, who has been the subject of criticism over his inability to play. That boiled over recently and got Embiid in some trouble, so getting back to basketball should be beneficial for everyone involved.
