John Calipari tells Colin Cowherd to ‘go to church’ over John Wall criticism

To say John Wall is not on Colin Cowherd’s list of favorite NBA players would be quite an understatement.

Back in 2010, Cowherd went on a bit of a rant about Wall doing the “Dougie” prior to his NBA debut.

Since then, the ESPN radio host has been critical of the Wizards point guard, at times attacking his character. Not surprisingly, Cowherd has heard backlash over his feelings about Wall, even from others at ESPN. Scott Van Pelt threw some shade Cowherd’s way after the Wizards beat the Raptors earlier in this year’s playoffs. Bomani Jones called out Cowherd on “Highly Questionable.”

On Friday, it was John Calipari’s turn. The Kentucky coach was a guest on Cowherd’s show and defended his former player.

“You’ve got to stop on John Wall,” Calipari said. “He does a dance. Stop, that was seven years ago,” he continued.

Calipari wasn’t done there. “You’re like that guy that took on this thing about the Dougie, so it’s driving you crazy. You’ve got to go to church. Ask for forgiveness. Let it go by. Let it go. Forgive,” Calipari said later in the interview.

John Calipari certainly made his point loud and clear, just as others have in the past. It’s time for Colin Cowherd to lay off of John Wall.
