Karl-Anthony Towns ended up looking like a prizefighter during Wednesday’s game.
The New York Knicks big man Towns suffered an ugly cut as his team played the Denver Nuggets. During the first quarter at Madison Square Garden in New York, N.Y., Towns was driving to the rim on Nuggets forward Spencer Jones and had a head-to-head collision with him.
Towns crumpled to the ground in pain and was badly bleeding from a visible cut about his right eye once he got to his feet. Here is the video.

The six-time All-Star Towns later returned to the game with a large bandage over his eye. He also dropped a great line about his injury on the ESPN broadcast during the fourth quarter, joking that he looked like he had fought junior welterweight boxing star Shakur Stevenson.

Towns, 30, is averaging 19.8 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game this season. He is known for his physical drives to the basket but ended up getting the worst of his own medicine during Wednesday’s game.
Additionally, Towns is the subject of trade rumors right now and was recently even linked to three potential suitors. But now Towns can say that he (literally) left his blood on the court for the Knicks.
