Kelly Oubre Jr. involved in car accident hours after Game 2 loss
Philadelphia 76ers wing Kelly Oubre Jr. had a very rough Monday night, and not just because of his team’s stunning Game 2 loss to the New York Knicks.
The Philadelphia Police Department confirmed to TMZ Sports that Oubre was involved in a car accident early Tuesday morning, just hours after his Sixers lost Game 2 of their Eastern Conference first-round series. Police say Oubre’s 2021 Lamborghini ran a red light and collided with another vehicle.
No injuries were reported, and Oubre is not expected to miss any games. However, both cars had to be towed from the scene.
Oubre’s night had already been bad enough considering the manner of the team’s Game 2 loss at Madison Square Garden. Oubre had contributed just four points and two rebounds in 26 minutes of action, though he did block three shots as well.
The veteran wing is in his first year with the Sixers. He actually missed significant time during the regular season after being struck by a vehicle while a pedestrian while walking in Philadelphia.
