Kentavious Caldwell-Pope fined $10,000 for kicking chair

Pistons guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope pulled a Kung Fu Hustle on an innocent arena chair on Monday and is now five figures poorer as a result.

The NBA announced a $10,000 fine for Caldwell-Pope on Wednesday for “kicking a chair located in the spectator stands” after being ejected in the third quarter of a 111-101 loss to the Chicago Bulls for arguing a foul call, per Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders.

Here is video of the incident:

Caldwell-Pope has developed nicely in his third NBA season, averaging 14.4 points per game, 3.7 rebounds per game, and 2.0 assists per game. He has also showcased his upside on the defensive end, often drawing (and thriving in) the matchup against the other team’s top perimeter threat. The Pistons are 4.9 points better defensively per 100 possessions with Caldwell-Pope on the court this year as opposed to when he’s off, per NBA.com.

But hopefully, going Crispin Glover on pieces of upholstery doesn’t become a recurring theme for the talented University of Georgia product.
