Report: Kevin Durant to miss next three games against Portland

Kevin Durant Warriors

The Golden State Warriors will be without Kevin Durant for most of their playoff series with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Durant suffered a strained right calf during Game 5 of the team’s conference semifinals series with the Houston Rockets last Wednesday and has been out since then. Not only did he miss Game 6 against Houston and the first two games of the Western Conference finals against Portland, but he’s also expected to miss more time.

During ESPN’s pregame show before Game 2 of the Warriors-Blazers series, Doris Burke reported that Durant was expected to miss the next three games of the series, in addition to that evening’s game. That would take him out through Game 5 of the series.

Golden State has gone 2-0 without Durant in the playoffs, and 3-0 if you consider they won Game 5 against the Rockets without him for part of the game. They’re still a championship team even without him, just like they were before he joined the squad. Even Seth Curry spoke about how tough they are without Durant.

Golden State leads their series with Portland 1-0 and would face the winner of the Toronto-Milwaukee series in the NBA Finals, if they were to advance.
