Kings’ De’Aaron Fox reportedly sprained his ankle at practice
De’Aaron Fox reportedly suffered a sprained ankle at Sacramento Kings practice on Monday.
ESPN’s Zach Lowe and Adrian Wojnarowski shared the news on Twitter, saying Fox was undergoing testing to determine the severity of the injury. The good news is it’s unclear at this time whether the youngster will need to miss any time.
The Kings play on Tuesday against Portland and then not again until Friday against the Lakers, so if he sits out Tuesday’s game, he would have three full days of recovery before Friday.
The 21-year-old experienced a breakout season last year and is averaging 18.2 points, 7.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game this season. His Kings are off to a disappointing 3-6 start and are already playing without Marvin Bagley III, who is out with a right thumb injury.
The No. 5 pick in 2017, Fox is under team control for two more seasons. He has expressed that he would be happy to remain in Sacramento.
