The thumb injury suffered by Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson could be more serious than thought.
Thompson suffered the injury Sunday in a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, and according to Marcus Thompson II of the Athletic, there is a fear that it may be a significant injury that could keep him out several weeks.
It is unclear how long Thompson could be out, but it sounds as if there is a distinct chance he may not be back until April.

Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports, however, hears that Thompson should be back by the end of March.
Golden State Warriors All-Star Klay Thompson’s right thumb injury will likely sideline him several games, and he’s expected to return before end of the month, league sources tell Yahoo.

The Warriors confirmed Wednesday that the injury is a fracture, and he will miss several games.

Either way, Thompson’s injury doesn’t sound like a minor one, and he’ll be on the shelf for several games. With his backcourt partner already out and the playoffs less than a month away, the timing couldn’t be much worse for Golden State.
