Kobe Bryant requests no gifts or ceremonies before road games
Kobe Bryant has requested no further pregame gifts or on-court ceremonies from his opponents during his travels this season.
Bryant stated that he wasn’t interested in a farewell tour, but in the week since he announced his retirement at the end of the season, the Sixers honored him with an on-court presentation and the Wizards gave him a video tribute. Bryant has apparently requested that this not continue, according to ESPN’s Baxter Holmes.
It’s not really up to Bryant – you can’t really stop someone from putting a video tribute together, where his participation wouldn’t be required – but one would figure that opponents will hold off on the gift-giving, per Bryant’s wishes. It’s only fair.
