Seven-time Grammy Award winning artist Taylor Swift performed at the Staples Center on Friday night and was fittingly surprised onstage by the man who brought the building seven NBA Finals appearances.
Resident Lakerland legend Kobe Bryant made a special appearance at Swift’s 1989 World Tour concert over the weekend to present the 25-year-old singer with her very own championship banner to hang in the Staples Center rafters. The Black Mamba, who has already raised five of them in his storied 19-year career, unveiled the banner for Swift to help honor her for officially setting the record Friday for most sold-out shows in the arena’s history with 16.

Tonight @kobebryant surprised me with a banner in @STAPLESCenter for the most sold out shows. You did that. Love you

The only thing that would have made this moment any better was if Bryant sang to Swift as the banner was being revealed, “I’ve got a blank banner, baby. And I’ll write your name.”
Really looking forward to when the neighboring Clippers cover up Swift’s new banner with a picture of Lance Stephenson.
As for the Lakers, at least don’t have to worry about a T-Swizzle concert at the Staples Center conflicting with a crucial playoff game next season.
