Kyrie Irving makes latest ridiculous claim
Kyrie Irving may have somehow outdone his flat-earth trutherism.
Speaking with reporters on Thursday after a loss to the New York Knicks, the Boston Celtics guard was asked about playing on Christmas Day against the Washington Wizards and offered his latest hot take.
“I mean, the hoopla of Christmas, I don’t really get into that,” said Irving, per Chris Forsberg of ESPN. “I don’t necessarily think of Christmas as a holiday.
“I’m just happy that I get to be with my family,” he continued. “Looking forward to playing in front of the fans on the 25th and just playing against a high-level Washington team and going against great guys in there and, of course, opening presents and that whole thing.”
Is Irving playing a character here, or does he actually believe that the most popular holiday in the country is not actually a holiday? In any case, this is just the latest of the ridiculous things that Irving has been saying recently.
