Ladies, Anucha Did This for You
I’m sorry, but did anything sound more corny than A-Mooch-a Browne Sanders telling all women that she won the lawsuit for them? That statement just rubbed me the wrong way. I was expecting a “you go, girl!” to follow, but was left disappointed.
“One day my daughter will go out to work; this was done for her and all women,” Browne Sanders said as a bottle of champagne sat on ice in her lawyers’ offices in Times Square.
…
“What I did here, I did for every working woman in America,” she said.
Yeah, let me be the first to call bullcrap here. If this is for all women in America, I’d like to see that ridiculous sum of $11.6 million go to a battered women organization. I don’t know about you, but I am completely and horrifically outraged by this lawsuit. To think that a woman has all of a sudden struck gold because she was called names and mistreated at work is absurd. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not condoning sexually harassment, I just think it’s unconscionable for someone to earn $11.6 million in a settlement for this type of suit. I’m sick and tired of seeing people sue to get ahead. I’m sick and tired of juries awarding victims absurd amounts of money. I want someone to please explain to me what about the lawsuit possibly warranted an award of multi-millions to A-mooch-a. She now has gained more money than any of us will sniff in our lifetimes, just because she was a victim in the workplace. Does that make any sense? This is disgusting, absurd, and I’m wholly outraged by it.
