Lakers showered with ‘Bronny’ chants in road game
Bronny James’ popularity apparently extends well beyond the Los Angeles Lakers’ own fan base.
The Lakers led the Toronto Raptors 123-116 with just over a minute to play at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada. As Lakers guard Austin Reaves lined up for a couple of free throws, the Raptors fans in attendance only had one thing on their minds: seeing Bronny James play.
Loud chants calling for the Lakers to play James rained down throughout the arena.

Much to the home crowd’s delight, Bronny eventually did check into the contest. James played all of 7.1 seconds but it was enough to please the fans. Lakers head coach JJ Redick showed that he was truly a man of the people.

The Lakers never trailed on Friday and led by as many as 26 points in the contest. The Raptors battled back and cut the deficit to six points on a few occasions but the Lakers survived for a 131-125 win.
Bronny failed to leave a single statistical mark in the box score. His father LeBron James, on the other hand, had a strong game with 27 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists, and 5 made three-pointers.
