Did Christian Wood shade Darvin Ham with 1-word post?

Los Angeles Lakers big man Christian Wood set social media ablaze with just three letters.

Wood posted on X just minutes before the Lakers’ Tuesday tilt against the Atlanta Hawks.

“Lol,” wrote Wood.

“Lol” stands for “laughing out loud,” which is apparently what Wood was doing after Lakers head coach Darvin Ham announced that Jaxson Hayes had been inserted to the Lakers’ starting lineup. Hayes replaced Lakers All-Star Anthony Davis, who was sidelined from the contest due to hip spasms.

It’s nearly impossible to verify what Wood was specifically “laughing out loud” about without asking him directly (and him answering honestly). However, the timing of the post had many on social media convinced that it was about the starting lineup snub.

Wood and Hayes had each started just 1 game prior to Tuesday’s Lakers-Hawks clash. Wood entered the contest averaging 7.1 points and 5.3 rebounds on 47.1% field goal shooting across 18.1 minutes of action. Hayes has had a much smaller role, averaging just 3.0 points and 1.7 rebounds across 9.6 minutes per game.

There were reports from earlier this month that Ham had begun to “alienate” some members of the Lakers’ locker room. Those issues seem to still be plaguing the team.
