Report: Lakers expect LeBron James to miss at least a few games
LeBron James suffered a groin injury during Tuesday night’s win over the Golden State Warriors that is not believed to be serious, but it will cost him some time.
Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports that the Los Angeles Lakers believe LeBron is going to miss at least a few games. While James said Tuesday night that he is not all that concerned, he is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Wednesday to determine the full extent of the injury. He was able to walk off the court under his own power but would not rule out having to miss a game.
“I don’t know [if I’m going to miss a game],” James said. “We’re going to see what the MRI says, see how I feel the rest of the day today. I’m going to be around-the-clock tomorrow rehabbing and we’ll see how I feel on Thursday when we go to [Sacramento].”
LeBron appeared to suffer they injury when he slipped while driving to the basket, and the way he initially described it was a big concern for Lakers fans. However, he has not missed a game this season and has always been incredibly durable throughout his career. The team will likely play it safe, but LeBron’s track record indicates he will not be sidelined for long.
