The Los Angeles Lakers are back at .500 on the year but at a cost.

The Lakers announced on Friday that veteran wing Cam Reddish will miss time with his right ankle sprain, per Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet. Reddish is set to be reevaluated in two weeks with the injury.

A former top-ten pick, Reddish was injured in the Lakers’ loss Tuesday to the rival LA Clippers after he landed on James Harden’s foot contesting a three-point attempt. Reddish then missed Thursday’s victory over the Chicago Bulls as a result.

The 24-year-old Reddish had found a nice niche in his first season with the Lakers. He earned a spot in the starting lineup with his length and defense and was also shooting a respectable 33.7 percent from three this season.

In Reddish’s absence, likely through the All-Star break, the Lakers will probably roll with D’Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, and Taurean Prince complementing LeBron James and Anthony Davis in the starting lineup. Regardless, this is another injury to a key role player for the struggling Lakers to overcome.
