Lakers minority owner praises NBA for handling of Mark Stevens incident
The NBA announced on Thursday that Golden State Warriors minority owner Mark Stevens has been fined and banned from all games for a year, and at least one person who holds the same title with another franchise is pleased with the swift action from the league.
Patrick Shoon-Shiong, a billionaire who has been a part-owner of the Los Angeles Lakers since 2010, sent a tweet on Friday complimenting NBA commissioner Adam Silver for his handling of the situation.
Well done Adam. Our players must be respected and supported.@NBA

Stevens shoved Kyle Lowry during Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday night after Lowry went diving into the stands for a loose ball. Lowry kept his composure and did not retaliate, later telling the media he hoped the “fan” was banned from games for life. One report has since indicated Stevens could be forced to sell all of his shares of the Warriors.
It would not be a surprise if Stevens is forced out, as even Warriors players have been critical of him for his actions. The whole ordeal has been extremely embarrassing for Golden State.
