Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian have been separated for well over a year, and the two have reportedly taken the final steps toward making their divorce official.
TMZ reports that Odom and Kardashian have both signed divorce papers that were filed in court on Friday, and the split will be finalized after a judge signs the documents.
Kardashian filed for divorce in December 2013, but there was no activity for several months after that. TMZ notes that a judge even threatened to dismiss the case at one point. Odom was open about wanting to save the marriage last year.
In recent weeks, there have been rumors that Odom has once again turned to drugs and is battling depression in the wake of losing two of his closest friends to drug-related deaths. Kardashian, on the other hand, has supposedly been dating a new NBA star.
A divorce between Odom and Kardashian was a long time coming, but let’s just hope it doesn’t make things worse for Odom than they already seem to be.
