LeBron James had a great message for his son Bronny after the Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated from the playoffs Wednesday night.

James stuck with standard teammate talk when departing the locker room following the team’s 103-96 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5 of their Western Conference first-round series at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The message, even to his son, was to have a good offseason and they would cross paths soon enough.

“All right, have a good offseason. I’ll see you when I see you,” James told Bronny.

Presumably, James will be seeing Bronny pretty soon, but the younger James certainly is not getting any special treatment in the locker room from his father.

The Lakers seem very happy with what Bronny has done this season despite his limited on-court contributions. He only played in 27 games, but the team has praised his professionalism and the progress he has made behind the scenes.

LeBron had made clear during his postgame press conference that playing alongside his son ranked as the biggest accomplishment of his entire career.

LeBron on where playing with Bronny ranks from all his achievements:

"No. 1 for sure. That's easy. It's not even close. He has a bright future because not only can he play the game of basketball, he's just a great fucking kid. I have to say that I have a lot to do with that" 😂 pic.twitter.com/g4U0aW9QRf

The elder James has a long offseason ahead of him. While nobody seriously believes he will retire, the 40-year-old just concluded another campaign without an NBA title, and it is not clear how many more years he has in him. He is certainly still playing at a high level, having averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 assists, and 7.8 rebounds per game while playing in 70 games during the regular season.
