LeBron James fueled by secret motivation in NBA Finals

LeBron James

LeBron James returned to the Cavaliers with one goal and one goal only in mind — to win an NBA championship for his hometown franchise. LeBron shouldn’t need any other motivation aside from bringing Cleveland its first ever NBA championship, but apparently that is not the only thing that is driving him.

Just don’t ask about the other stuff.

After the Cavs won Game 2 in overtime to even the series at 1-1 heading back to Cleveland, LeBron told reporters there are secret factors that are motivating him this season.

“My motivation is to make sure my guys are ready and prepared every night we step on the floor,” James said, per ESPN.com. “And I have some other motivation that I won’t talk about right now, but I have so many different things to worry about than being an underdog or guys counting us out.”

LeBron has already spoken about critics counting the Cavs out now that Kyrie Irving is done for the season with a knee injury. We know he wants to prove those naysayers wrong in addition to winning a title for Cleveland, so what are the secret factors that he can’t talk about?

“I hope we win so I can tell y’all,” LeBron said when pressed further.

The pre-championship chip has returned to LeBron’s shoulder, and that was evident when he was asked about his 44-point performance in Game 1. The other stuff could be anything, and all Cavs fans can do is hope LeBron keeps it fresh on his mind. It seems to have worked to this point in the postseason.
