
The Sacramento Kings have moved quickly to secure Luke Walton’s services as head coach.
According to multiple reports, the Kings have already offered Walton their head coaching job, and are in the process of finalizing a multi-year contract.
Sacramento GM Vlade Divac is offering Luke Walton his franchise’s coaching job and there’s confidence on both sides that a deal can be reached quickly, league sources tell ESPN. Divac and Walton are meeting this weekend.

This can’t come as a huge surprise. Walton’s name quickly emerged as a top target of Sacramento’s as soon as the Los Angeles Lakers parted ways with him, and he appears to have been Vlade Divac’s first choice from the start of the process. Walton went 98-148 in three seasons as the Lakers’ head coach, but the Kings are clearly expecting him to be more comfortable with less of a spotlight and the ability to work with Sacramento’s talented young core.
