LSU fans do not appear to be giving former quarterback Jayden Daniels the benefit of the doubt when it comes to his ongoing dispute with the school.
Daniels was not in attendance for Saturday’s game against Clemson at Tiger Stadium, but his name did feature in a montage of LSU players who have gone on to play in the NFL. When the Washington Commanders quarterback’s name appeared, it was loudly booed by the fans in attendance.

LSU fans probably don’t actually hate Daniels, but like most people, they are unimpressed with how he and his camp have behaved themselves in recent weeks. The quarterback demanded that the school stop using his name, image, and likeness after issuing his No. 5. That stance has been widely criticized and even mocked by many fans.
Daniels has been tight-lipped about the situation since it initially became public. He almost certainly will not have anything to say about the frosty reception his name got from LSU fans, but it certainly demonstrates how bad he has made himself look by pursuing this.
DJ Pickett, who is wearing Daniels’ No. 5, had two tackles on Saturday. LSU’s secondary did not have that much to do in general during what turned out to be a 51-10 blowout.
