Malik Beasley doesn’t want you to call it a comeback.

The veteran NBA swingman Beasley drew attention on Monday with the message that he posted to Instagram. In what marked his first post to the platform ever since being cleared in the federal gambling probe that had been investigating him this summer, Beasley sent a notable four-word message.

“my decision is near,” wrote Beasley in the caption (along with an eyeballs emoji).

The 28-year-old Beasley appeared in all 82 games for the Detroit Pistons last season, scoring 16.3 points per game on a career-high 41.6 percent shooting from three-point range (also finishing second in NBA Sixth Man of the Year voting). An unrestricted free agent this offseason, Beasley was said to be in talks with the Pistons on a new three-year, $42 million deal. But the federal gambling probe, which was looking into allegations against Beasley for supposedly gambling on NBA games and player prop bets, brought his entire market to a screeching halt.

Now that Beasley has been cleared though, several contending teams have since reportedly expressed their interest in signing him. With training camp officially set to begin at the end of the month, it appears Beasley will have no problem finding a new NBA contract.

A former first-round pick by the Denver Nuggets in 2016 (No. 19 overall), Beasley still has several off-court woes that he needs to deal with right now. But at least a federal gambling investigation is no longer one of them for the talented sharpshooter.
