Malik Beasley got the meme treatment online after blowing Game 6 of the Eastern Conference first-round playoff series between his Detroit Pistons and the New York Knicks at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Mich., on Thursday night.
The Knicks won the game 116-113 to close out the series and advance to the conference semifinals. Beasley made a blunder at the end of the game when he let a pass go through his hands and out of bounds with his team down by three. That mistake handed the game to the Knicks and robbed Detroit of the chance to shoot to tie the game.
Beasley had talked some trash prior to the game, saying that the Pistons had the mentally stronger team. That’s why it was so satisfying for some fans to mock Beasley afterwards.

Beasley was a 41.6 percent three-point shooter during the regular season and had gone 6/13 on threes in the game, so there was a good chance he would have made the tying shot had he caught the pass. The big problem, of course, is that he couldn’t make the catch.
