Manu Ginobili announces retirement from NBA
The end of yet another era in San Antonio has come, as Manu Ginobili announced on Monday that he has decided to retire from the NBA.
Ginobili shared a post on social media reflecting on the “fabulous journey” that was his 16-year career, the entirety of which was spent with the Spurs.
Today, with a wide range of feelings, I'm announcing my retirement from basketball. IMMENSE GRATITUDE to everyone (family, friends, teammates, coaches, staff, fans) involved in my life in the last 23 years. It's been a fabulous journey. Way beyond my wildest dreams. pic.twitter.com/3MLCUtmd6K

Ginobili was part of four NBA title teams in San Antonio, and he helped build a dynasty that will be remembered as one of the best in sports. The 41-year-old finishes his career with an average of 13.3 points per game. He was the second-oldest active player in the NBA behind Vince Carter before he decided to call it a career.
It goes without saying that Ginobili will be missed by Spurs fans, as we already saw some of them get creative in trying to convince him to return for another season.
