Billboard goes up in San Antonio urging Manu Ginobili to play one more year
Manu Ginobili may be entering the final games of his NBA career, but the city of San Antonio is still not ready to say goodbye.
Retired former Spur Brent Barry tweeted an image Wednesday of a billboard that went up in the city urging Ginobili to play another year. The message on the billboard, which was written in Spanish, translated to “One more, Manu.”

The Spurs are currently down 2-0 in their first-round playoff series against the heavily-favored Golden State Warriors, so the question of retirement is a very real one right now for the 40-year-old Ginobili. Granted, the Argentinian proved that he still had a decent amount left to offer in his 16th NBA season, averaging 8.9 points and 2.5 assists in just 20.0 minutes per game.
While Ginobili is already the second-oldest active NBA player, Spurs fans may also be encouraged by this recent assertion by a well-known confidante of his.
