Matt Barnes suspended one game for John Henson incident
At this point, we might be able to purchase a luxury yacht with all the money Matt Barnes has lost over the years due to suspension.
On Saturday, the NBA announced a one-game suspension without pay for the Grizzlies forward for attempting to enter the Milwaukee locker room and “verbally challenging” Bucks big man John Henson in the final seconds of Memphis’ 96-86 loss on Thursday night, per Marc Stein of ESPN.

Henson taunted Barnes after blocking his shot in the closing moments of the game and was promptly assessed two technical fouls and ejected. Barnes was also ejected after jawing at the officials, and proceeded to go chasing after Henson down the tunnel towards the Bucks locker room, apparently engaging in some sort of verbal altercation with the 25-year-old power forward.
Here is video of the incident:
By now, this is just standard protocol for Barnes, who has often found himself in hot water with the league because of his actions. The 36-year-old veteran was already suspended for two games earlier this season for his notorious physical confrontation with Derek Fisher over the offseason, an incident Barnes simply would not stop talking about eventually leading to an additional $35,000 fine from the NBA.
Bobby Marks of The Vertical notes that Barnes has now lost over $100,000 in fines and suspensions this year alone.
