Mavericks could lose high-profile executive to Eastern Conference team?
The Dallas Mavericks are currently losing 2-0 in the NBA Finals, and they could be doing some more losing after the season as well.
Veteran NBA writer Marc Stein reported this week on Substack that Mavs senior adviser Dennis Lindsey is drawing interest from the Detroit Pistons to join their front office team under new president of basketball operations Trajan Langdon. Stein notes that Lindsey has been an “ongoing target” for Detroit and was even under consideration for the lead executive job that ultimately went to Langdon.
Lindsey is a notable decision-maker in the Dallas front office behind GM Nico Harrison. He joined the organization in 2023 and also prominently served as GM of the Utah Jazz from 2012-19. Lindsey then got promoted to Utah’s executive vice president of basketball operations but resigned that position in 2021 under some interesting circumstances.
As for the Pistons, they are undergoing a full front-office makeover after their vile 15-67 season. Detroit just made a major executive firing and now will look to build anew under Langdon and a who’s who of prominent front-office additions.
