Michael Jordan congratulates Warriors, says they have work to do

Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan sent his congratulations to the Golden State Warriors on breaking his ’95-’96 Chicago Bulls’ record for best regular season record, but he is not ready to crown them just yet.

Jordan’s manager sent out the following statement from MJ after the Warriors beat the Grizzlies 125-104 at Oracle Arena on Wednesday night to finish the regular season at 73-9, besting Chicago’s previous record of 72-10. Jordan called the Warriors’ season “amazing” and credited them as a team that has been “fun to watch.” However, true to form, Jordan did not completely give his complete stamp of approval, noting that the Warriors still need to win the championship before living up to his Bulls.

We already knew from this previous story that Jordan supported the Warriors’ pursuit of the regular season record, so his statement is not too surprising. But you have to love the way he maintained his one-up mentality with that playoff remark. Jordan just loves to hold his six rings over everyone — rightfully so.
