Allen Crabbe was traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the Atlanta Hawks earlier this month, and the veteran guard’s first offseason with his new team is not off to the best start.
Crabbe was arrested for driving while under the influence on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, Calif., late Tuesday night. Police say they pulled the 27-year-old over after observing him “straddling lanes,” and an officer suspected he had been drinking. A video obtained by TMZ showed Crabbe going through a field sobriety test, which he apparently failed.
Crabbe reportedly blew a .08 when a breathalyzer exam was administered, which is exactly the legal limit in California. He was placed into custody and booked for misdemeanor DUI. He was said to have been cooperative with police and held for a few hours before being released.
Crabbe spent the first four seasons of his career with the Portland Trail Blazers and the last two with the Nets. He averaged 9.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game this past year.
