NBPA stands by Kristaps Porzingis in statement
The National Basketball Players Association is standing by Kristaps Porzingis amid a rape allegation.
NBPA executive director Michele Roberts issued a statement Sunday stating that the union had evaluated the accuser’s claims and were opting to back Porzingis.
Players Association with statement supporting Kristaps Porzingis: "We have been aware of these allegations for some time, have evaluated the accuser's claims and, based what is presently before us, stand with Kristaps.'' From Michele Roberts.

The NBPA standing by their player isn’t necessarily a huge shock, with the added note that little is publicly known at this time. There are also reports that the Dallas Mavericks, who acquired Porzingis from the New York Knicks earlier this season, may have been given an incomplete summary of the allegations when making the deal. Frankly, there’s a lot of unknowns here, and it may be a while before we get more information.
