Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic is as stoic as they come on the basketball court. But he let his emotions run wild after Thursday’s win over the Golden State Warriors.
Jokic drained a desperation triple from 40 feet out as time expired to beat the Warriors 130-127 at Chase Center in San Francisco, Calif. It was a shot straight out of Steph Curry’s playbook.

Jokic reacted to the shot like one of his prized horses had just won the Kentucky Derby.

Jokic appeared even more elated Thursday than when the Nuggets actually won the NBA championship. We’re talking about a man who was completely unfazed by a serious gash on his right arm that was oozing blood mid-game weeks prior. The man whose ultimate goal in life is to separate himself from his basketball fame after he retires.
But if anyone still questions whether Jokic loves the game of basketball, Thursday’s win over the Warriors is arguably the closest thing to definitive proof.
Jokic’s game-winner capped off another stellar night for the 2-time MVP. The Serbian center finished with 34 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists, and 2 steals on 13/16 shooting.
