Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic scored 31 points to go along with 11 rebounds and seven assists in a 122-117 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night but shot just five free throws.
That’s significant because Jokic was mugged for much of the night but couldn’t seem to draw a call. It was so bad that by the end of the game, the 28-year-old was left a bloody mess.
Jokic suffered a deep, oozing gash to his right arm that was so bad it soaked part of his jersey, turning it from white to red.

This is nothing new for Jokic, whose arms are deeply scarred due to repeated cuts over the years.
“I lead the league in scratches. I’m always bleeding — I’m used to it,” he told ESPN in 2019.
Jokic has said in the past that he intended to start wearing long sleeves during games but that’s never come to fruition. He continues to wear the standard NBA jersey and by doing so, his battle wounds are on constant display.

The gash suffered by Jokic on Friday night was deep enough that it will undoubtedly leave yet reminder of what life in the NBA is like for the two-time Most Valuable Player.
