Washington Wizards coach Randy Wittman earned a victory the hard way over the Brooklyn Nets last night. Wittman’s team has been looking to get back on track after playing poorly for most of December, and he did everything he could to help the team grind out a much-needed victory.
Basically, Wittman showed his players that the “no pain, no gain” theory is a perfectly tangible thing. At one point during the game, a basketball came directly at Wittman’s face. Rather than uncrossing his arms and trying to protect himself, he took it like a man and let the ball flatten his face. It led to one of the best photos you will see this NBA season.

Nothing says grind it out like letting a basketball turn the right side of your face into a whoopie cushion.
